Crown point man overdose in Cedar lake home

Early Saturday morning, Gabriel A. Dorado, 21, from Crown Point, was admitted to St. Anthony’s Hospital due to a heroin overdose. At approximately 2:10 A.M, Crown Point Police Deparment dispatch recieved a call stating there was a possible drug overdose on the 165 block of Morse St. In Cedar Lake, Indiana. The affidavit states that, Dorado, was unresponsive at a nearby house, where he and 3 other friends were staying at. Cedar Lake police arrived at the scene as one adult male Identified as Zakkary Donald Bartell, 21, of Cedar lake, was trying to flee the scene. Bartell was caught running a block from the scene and was tooken in for further question, but was later released. Bartell and other witnesses stated that Gabriel had a couple drinks and soon was found laying on the bathroom floor after vomitting. Along with heroin; xanax, and cocaine were also found in Gabriel’s possesion. At the sight of the scene he was pronounced dead, but later was recovered when given narcan.
